Using this guide

Please read the entire guide before use. When following instructions, refer to the images at the front of the guide.

Intended use

The F20 is a non-invasive accessory used for channeling airflow (with or without supplemental oxygen) to a patient from a positive airway pressure (PAP) device such as a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or bilevel system.

The F20 is:

  • to be used by patients weighing more than 66 lb (30 kg) for whom positive airway pressure therapy has been prescribed
  • intended for single-patient reuse in the home environment and multi-patient reuse in the hospital/institutional environment.

AirTouch F20 cushion

The cushion is intended for single-patient reuse in both home and hospital/institutional environments and recommended to be replaced monthly.

Fitting

  1. Twist and pull both magnetic clips away from the frame.
  2. Ensure that the ResMed logo on the headgear is facing outwards and is upright. With both lower headgear straps released, hold the mask against your face and pull the headgear over your head.
  3. Bring the lower straps below your ears, and attach the magnetic clip to the frame.
  4. Undo the fastening tabs on the upper headgear straps. Pull the straps evenly until the mask is stable and positioned as shown in the illustration. Reattach the fastening tabs.
  5. Undo the fastening tabs on the lower headgear straps. Pull the straps evenly until the mask is stable and sits comfortably on the chin. Reattach the fastening tabs.
  6. Connect the device air tubing to the elbow. Attach the elbow to the mask by pressing the side buttons and pushing the elbow into the mask, ensuring it clicks in on both sides.
  7. Your mask and headgear should be positioned as shown in the illustration.\

Adjustment (AirTouch F20)

If necessary, slightly adjust the position of the mask for the most comfortable fit. Ensure that the headgear is not twisted.

  1. Turn on your device so that it is blowing air.

Adjustment tips:

  • To resolve any leaks at the upper part of the mask, adjust the upper headgear straps. For the lower part, adjust the lower headgear straps.
  • Adjust enough for a comfortable seal.

Cleaning your mask at home (AirTouch F20)

Handwash the elbow, frame and headgear (not the cushion) by gently rubbing in warm (approximately 86°F/30°C) water using mild liquid detergent. Rinse them well under running water and allow to air dry out of direct sunlight.

If required, it is recommended to wipe the cushion using CPAP wipes or equivalent and allow to dry. It is recommended to replace your cushion every month.

WARNING

  • As part of good hygiene, always follow cleaning instructions (using mild liquid detergent for recommended components and if required, wiping the cushion with CPAP wipes or equivalent). Some cleaning products may damage the mask, its parts and their function, or leave harmful residual vapors that could be inhaled if not rinsed thoroughly.
  • Regularly clean your mask and its components to maintain the quality of your mask and to prevent the growth of germs that can adversely affect your health.

CAUTION

  • Visible criteria for product inspection: If any visible deterioration of a system component is apparent (cracking, discoloration, tears, etc.), the component should be discarded and replaced.
  • The cushion must not be submerged in liquid as this may damage the cushion and affect mask performance.
  • Discard the cushion if it is submerged in liquid or heavily soiled.

Daily/After each use:

  1. Disassemble the mask according to the disassembly instructions.
  2. If required, wipe your cushion with a CPAP wipe or equivalent and then allow to dry. Important – do not get cushion wet.
  3. Rinse the frame and elbow under running water. Clean with a soft brush until dirt is removed.
  4. Soak the components in warm water with a mild liquid detergent for up to ten minutes.
  5. Shake the components in the water.
  6. Brush the moving parts of the elbow and around the vent holes.
  7. Brush the areas of the frame where the arms connect, and inside and outside the frame where the elbow connects.
  8. Rinse the components under running water.
  9. Leave the components to air dry out of direct sunlight. Make sure to squeeze the arms of the frame to ensure that excess water is removed.

Weekly:

  1. Disassemble the mask. The magnets can remain attached to the headgear during cleaning.
  2. Handwash the headgear in warm water with mild liquid detergent.
  3. Rinse the headgear under running water. Inspect to ensure the headgear is clean and detergent free. Wash and rinse again, if necessary.
  4. Squeeze the headgear to remove excess water.
  5. Leave the headgear to air dry out of direct sunlight.

Monthly:

Replace the cushion by following relevant steps of the disassembly /reassembly instructions.

Shipping Information

Standard shipping is our default shipping method. Under this option we will use either United Parcel Service (UPS) or USPS (United States Post Office) to ship your package. We will make this determination based on speed and cost effectiveness. Shipping costs will be determined based on the total cost of your order. To calculate your shipping, add your item(s) to your shopping cart and use the box marked "Estimate Shipping and Tax".

Please note: Your package will be shipped from our warehouse in the US. We find that we can offer a larger selection of products by shipping directly from the United States, and while we do have offices in Canada, all customer packages will leave from the US warehouse. Because of this, shipment times can vary widely. It generally only takes a few days for the package to reach Canada, but depending on the office at which it arrives, time spent in Customs can be anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

Also, customs officers make a determination as to whether or package should be assessed import duties. We mark every Canadian package as "Personal Medical Supplies" to discourage assessment of these duties. But, if duties are assessed at your Customs office, we cannot be held responsible for those costs. These are not included in your shipping or product charges. Should duties be assessed unfairly, we can provide you with an appeal form that may help in getting your duty charges back.

When will my order be shipped?

Most orders placed before 3:30pm EST/EDT Monday through Friday will be shipped within 1-3 business days. Customers with orders that will take longer to ship will be informed via email or telephone. We make every effort to ship our packages as soon as the order and prescription are received, but certain items may take longer. You will be notified as soon as your order ships via email. We will include any tracking information available.

To help expedite your order shipment, please be sure to promptly send in any required prescriptions for purchased CPAP masks or machines. These will be necessary to process and ship your order quickly.

Our Prescription Policy

If your order includes CPAP masks, machines or heated humidifiers, we must have your prescription on file before we can ship your order. Please note that CPAP supplies and parts such as filters, tubing, water chambers, mask parts, cushions and pillows do not require a prescription.

There are three easy ways to give us your CPAP prescription:

  • Fax your prescription to us: (855)505-9178.
  • Email your prescription to prescriptions@canadacpapsupply.com.
  • We can request your prescription for you! Contact customer service at (855)708-2727 or download and print this Physician's RX Order Form document that will allow you to easily and quickly request a prescription from your doctor. Download the form, send it to your doctor, allow him to complete it, and then send it back to us!

NOTE: If you fax or email a prescription, please write your order number on your prescription. A prescription for a standard CPAP must include a set pressure setting.

Please contact our customer service team directly if you are having trouble obtaining a prescription for your mask, machine or humidifier. We can help!
